What My Mother Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones
Sophie can't really decide what she wants. She's a beautiful teen girl who is trying to figure out the differences between love and lust. She keeps arguing with her mother, sneaking out in raincoats--and nothing else--with her friends, and wearing black dresses to the Halloween dance...where she meets her masked man.
This book is a beautiful, romantic story about the genuine adventures of finding yourself and your love. Told in poetic form, Sones explores the relationships we create and lose during our teenage years and the controversial tension between the sexes when you're not sure whether you're in love with a body or a person.
I highly recommend this story. I'm a huge fan of the romance and of the character development. Sophie is an intriguing character that very much represents much of the female teenage years and the emotions involved. Between her relationships with her mother, her friends, and her exes, every new poem explores parts of her life as she battles between her popularity and her love.
This is for fans of classic teen romance. It's humorous and lovable and Sones does an amazing job of putting a voice to her amazing characters.

What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones
The lovely sequel to 'What My Mother Doesn't Know,' this book is told from Sophie's boyfriend's point of view after he learns that his major unpopularity, which has taken over his own miserable life, is affecting the girl he loves. Robin Murphy is trying not to be selfish, but he just can't help it. He's finally got the girl of his dreams--she's gorgeous and smart and funny and she can draw and dammit but he wishes he could just get to second base with her--and it's turned the whole school against her. He's used to people hating him and using his name as a derogatory term, example: "You're such a Murphy." But when people start saying things about Sophie, he's not so sure he can handle it anymore.
This is a heart wrenching, jaw dropping, blush inducing book that sends us into a whole new tale. Brilliantly written, Sones has done it again.
Definitely be sure to pick this winner up after you've finished the first one.
