Perfect Chemistry/Rules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles
Perfect Chemistry:
Alex Fuentes has a messed up life. As a child he saw his father's murder, he must support his 2 younger brothers, and his mother, and get through his senior year at Fairfield High in Chicago, where everyone knows that south siders and north siders don't get along. They're not really compatible elements. In order to support his family, he joined Latino Blood, a gang that requires sweat and blood in brotherhood.
Brittany Ellis is a picture perfect Barbie doll with her football star boyfriend, her cheer-leading title, her best friends, and Mommy and Daddy's bank accounts. But that's just on the outside. She's only playing perfect because she has to be.
When these two become Chemistry partners, secrets are uncovered in a PG-16 plot that is soooooo juicy. It's a very well written novel and it's very fluffy--but serious and kinda scary at some parts with the gangs and guns and...:)--and a truly heart wrenching romance.
It has some racy parts and language, so I'm rating it PG-16, because it's not quite R. It's a captivating, original, intoxicating and romantic story and I definitely suggest any romance enthusiastic read it.

Rules of Attraction:
Now that you know Alex Fuentes, meet his younger brother, Carlos. Alex is just the idiot who ruined the great life of freedom he had for a gringa girlfriend. Carlos used to look up to his brother. Now, he wonders what the hell happened to the badass Latino Blood member who lost his heart and his huevos. This is Carlos' chance to find out what changed his brother as he moves from Mexico to Colorado, to room with his brother as he finishes high school. Unfortunately, his first days go from awful to horrific to hell in no time flat when he meets Madison, a trashy girl that apparently can't say no, and Kiara, a tomboy of a chick who would rather get in a fist fight with Carlos or fix his car (or maybe destroy it from the inside out) rather than have anything to do with him romantically.
Kiara is NOT his type. Madison...is.
But sometimes, the rules of attraction have exceptions. Especially when you have to live across the hall from the girl whose life goal is drive you out of your damn mind.
It's a quirky, steamy, dark, serious, and at the same time, hopeful romance that (I think) is even better than the first.
